All public and private schools nationwide are encouraged by the Department of Education (DepEd) to hold activities related to the national observance of the Filipino Values Month (FVM) this November. For this year, the theme of the FVM celebration is “Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakakalikasan at Makabansa” which “emphasizes the importance and critical role of the family in strengthening Filipino values and developing individuals who are pro-God, pro-people, pro-country, and pro-nature especially in this digital age.” Education Secretary Leonor Briones, in DepEd Memorandum no. 161 series of 2019, issued the guidelines on the conduct of this year’s observance of the Filipino Values Month.
