Ancient Spanish city of Vigan Philippines



     This is again the month that the city of Vigan celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. The celebration aims to strengthen the pride in the city's history and culture, promote friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community's involvement in the city's various activities that  highlights love for culture, arts and entertainment.

     The heritage, culture and arts of Vigan is surprisingly preserve by the people and  the city government of Vigan. The Vigan City was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List of Sites and Monument as the city of the best preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia. Vigan was awarded the UNESCO's  Best Practice in World  Heritage Management on the 40th Anniversary of the World Heritage Convention and named as one of the New Seven Wonders Cities of the World. The contributions of Chinese community and presence of Indians is appreciated by the city government.

     These achievements of the  city is pride of all the people of Vigan, and also the Filipinos. Proves that we have a very wonderful city and we have to take care of it that the history gave to us for the better and future of the next generations. Nothing will compare to this place to the other countries of East and South-East Asia.

This quarter gave me sad and happy, sad 'cause we will now completing this school year and we will leaving each other 'cause we have not the same path that we will taking in, happy 'cause we are now closer to our future to become successful someday. I was able to overcome these challenges through accepting these, that there is no permanent in this world, everything in this world changes. And it is really our time to take another step of our journey but we will be depart from each other. Indeed, Fourth Grading Period is very a tough period I've been faced of that makes me cry.
